Why have I created audio lessons?
I have always wanted to create audio lessons for our son, Bass. Bass is dyslexic and really doesn't like reading. He's never read for pleasure and finds the whole process really difficult and painful at times - I honestly think he would much prefer to take his eyeballs out than read!
But he absolutely LOVES listening to audio books. Bass reads with his ears. Ok he struggles to read chapter books but if that chapter book were on an audio CD he would devour it. Like many SEN children Bass has so much potential if only there was a way to unlock the curriculum.
Bass absorbs information through his ears. With this in mind audio lessons would be utterly brilliant for him to access the curriculum. What if the whole curriculum was in audio form? How fantastic would that be for Bass? And children like Bass?

A love of audiobooks...
Katie's audio recordings are both dyslexic-friendly and child-friendly. Katie has coupled Bass's enthusiasm for listening to stories on audio CD and his need to learn the National Curriculum together and have created a number of short stories involving a fantastic character called Max and through Max's adventures I am beginning to unlock the learning objectives already.

Our audio lessons are fabulous.
But please don't just take our word for it. Please read what our parents think...

Why are audio lessons so good?
🗣️ Audio lessons uses the strengths of your child's auditory processing. Often children like Bass, who have dyslexia, have phenomenal auditory processing. Providing them with audio lessons will help them better understand and retain information when presented with it aurally rather than in written form.
🗣️ Reduced reading strain. Dyslexic children find the process of reading really difficult. Audio lessons allow dyslexic children to access information without the strain and frustration associated with reading difficulties.
🗣️ Reduces anxiety. This is an important one for me. Bass experiences anxiety when he reads - it physically stresses him out. Audio lessons helps alleviate this anxiety by providing an alternative, non-threatening way to access and review information.
🗣️ Increases comprehension. Listening to information can enhance comprehension for dyslexic learners. Audio lessons will allow them to focus on understanding the content rather than struggling decoding written words.
🗣️ Better memory recall. Audio lessons will help your child better recall key concepts and information.
🗣️ Improved results. Bass has been listening to his audio lessons for over four months now and we have seen him achieve better results across all subjects. He has had better end of unit marks, better vocabulary test marks and we have also noticed an overall improvement in his confidence and emotional wellbeing.
